Gastroscopy

No way, I've had similar symptoms to neon for years and add nausea to the mix and you've got me, they tried so hard to get me to agree to have a camera down my throat - no ****ing chance, imagine if it was the same one thatd been up someones arse!!!!!
So they tried to get me to consent to the colonoscopy, again, no chance so they finally got me to consent to a sigmoidoscopy (sp?) ****ing horrible procedure and I too felt like a whoopie cushion but that was the compromise and the "other" way into my stomach. Mine was clear and all and the doctor diagnosed reflux. Now I'm not a doctor but how the hell can you be sure someone has reflux from checking their intestines and stomach? Surely its just trial and error and they should have tried meds before violating people?
On the plus side I got to watch it, I didn't have to have "banana" spray, they spoke to me like I was an adult and I didn't have a camera up my nose and down my throat *bawks*

did they use your flue.

Nice one, glad to hear you're okay mate (apart from cutting out the good things in life!).

I've had a colonoscopy, and I think in all honesty it would have been a more pleasant (pleasant, hang on, that's not the right word, it was ****in awful!!!) experience than you've described, they give you some drugs before they insert the cam which kind of makes you forget the sensations, a bit like Chico nabbing you at the Lisbon on a Friday Night.

The 24 hours of "cleaning out the system" however, is not so nice, but like you said, the joy of finding out you are cancer free at the end of it kind of balances it all out.

Cut them up really small, then cook them all day. They will have disintegrated and become part of the sauce by the end of the cooking.

Its things like chilli that I'm going to have to cut back on. I love spicy food; whether its mexican, thai, indian - they've all got a bit of chilli in them. I get a proper rush from eating stuff like that.

Just have to eat it on special occasions.

colonoscopy? Sounds far worse in all honesty.

I don't know Hayee, that sounds far worse to me. (your procedure)

I think the reason they do these tests is to find the underlying root cause. You could have similar symptoms to Stomach Cancer, like a build up of acid. These could then be allievated by antiacids. But if they didn't check the underlying cause, well you'd be **** out of luck 12 months down the line. Its only right they take a precautionary stance with these things.
