Absolute gobsite of a person...

BUT - he was the best English right back this country has seen for nearly 20 years...and there's still nobody AS good as he was for England today.

You also cant knock how loyal he was for his club and how much he loved it...and how he wound up the kopites blissfully.

Also a sign you're getting older when you can remember him going through as a kid to retirement. He's also won 8 league titles! Christ!

Given whats happened this week with the comings and going from the RS perhaps the modern day footballer can take a long look at the lad and ignore his awful personality but admire his loyalty something thats sorely lacking in todays game.
