Gary Monk vs Referees

Player Valuation: £6m
Gary Monk is meeting old Mother Riley, who is head of the referee's association, to discuss a run of poor refereeing decisions that Swansea have suffered this season.

I remember Moyes doing this when Andy Johnson was routinely hacked down in the penalty area and was not given a penalty. The Ref's chief at the time agreed that of the 11 claims, 9 were definite penalties and the other 2 could well have been given. The outcome was that in the next season, we were not awarded a single penalty until the last 10 minutes of the last game of the season, when we had the game in the bag already.

So is Monk making a big mistake by publicly taking on the refs? I confidently look forward to at least 2 penalties in our favour tomorrow.

Respect to him for doing this instead of just making passive aggressive comments to the media. I doubt it will help though. Refs aren't bent, they're just cowardly most of the time.

i dont get how talking to the referee about decisions that havent gone your way helps at all

its not going to change how the next ref refs your game is it? they made poor decisions but its doubtful they made them on purpose

So I will defo get on Leighton tomorrow.

Either;

1/ the standard of refereeing is abhorrent these days.

2/ referees are under more scrutiny these days.

3/ referees are biased heavily towards certain clubs.

4/ referees are taking bribes.

One of the above is true, the question is, which one?
