Have to say i agree with you a sensible move shame on Labour for not nipping this in the bud when america came a calling

The most ridiculous of investigations. The Yanks should have been told to do one a long time ago over this.

Pushing the "special relationship" to it's limits by basically asking us to bend over backwards and give up one of our own citizens for no reason.

Fair play to Theresa May - she's still a complete weapon though.

The deal we signed with France regarding military co-operation, and the development of our own aircraft carriers, means the special relationship will be a thing of the past soon IMO.

Personally I'd be more than happy with that as I think it does our country a lot of harm.

This is fantastic news. Hopefully it's the first nail in the coffin of this ridiculous one sided agreement. I never thought I'd be applauding Theresa May but hats off to her. Let's not forget it was a Labour government who signed up to this abomination. They still seem to think it's a good idea. From BBC News:
'But Labour former home secretary Alan Johnson criticised the decision and claimed Mrs May had made a decision which was "in her own party's best interests but it's not in the best interests of this country". He said: "Gary McKinnon is accused of very serious offences. The US was perfectly within its rights and it was extremely reasonable of them to seek his extradition.".'

Wonder what he saw on there? Must have been something epic otherwise they wouldnt have kicked off so much over it.

Ridiculous though. Putting a guy in jail for 60 years for that. He's clearly not very well.

Alan Johnson is a clown though who has always been pro-US over pretty much any issue (including torture) and he hasn't been relevant in mainstream politics for a while. So it ain't worth using him to judge the Labour party as a whole.

Of course, Milliband will come out shortly and say something stupid. Stay tuned.

I wouldn't say its over yet. Its in the British's govt's nature to give the US Govt whatever we want.
