Garbutt off to Fulham

That "reporter" Ian Doyle: as bad a hack as you'll get at that rag. Utterly cynical in his coverage of Everton....everything he writes is dripping in sarcasm.

How that lot continue to get away with it I dont know. It's like another club's fanzine where the object of ridicule is their local rivals...hold on....

We both know my feelings on the matter

That feller's another Echo beaut.

There's no one arsed about it, the majority see it as a rational move.

'kin paper needs shutting down.
What absolute nonsense! We all know why he's gone, the player knows why he's gone, the world knows why he's gone -except the Echo. Experience, simple as that.

There's far more journalistic integrity, and better writing, on this site - maybe we should start our own local-paper-operation of GOT.

*PM's D/D......

The Echo (and Doyle in particular) stirring it...again.

It's been about a month since the Echo declaration that they acknowledge they've got their coverage of Everton all wrong. Since then we've seen nothing of the kind: more sneering commentary; more 'magical' history tour filler articles; more turning a blind eye to pressing issues concerning investment and transfer spending in particular; more 'recommended' LFC reports on their Everton pages.

I think more and more people are bypassing them now and it'll become formally what it is already on an informal basis: an LFC publication in the way that their old 'KOP' magazine was. It's well on the way.

My initial reaction to this was one of disappointment but after thinking about it, I can see the logic in it.

Garbutt needs games at a competitive level. As the cliché goes, the Championship is one of the most competitive leagues around and if Garbutt is going to Fulham as their first choice left back in a (hopefully) competitive side, that could be worth more than a season in a relegation fight with a promoted side in The Premier League - as has been mentioned here a couple of times, the loan spell at Blackpool was the making of Seamus Coleman and this could end up being along the same lines.

@Groucho mate.

I never cease to be surprised by the absolute nonsense and INSULTS that come from the ECHO.

If they ever approach the boss man again regarding a 'friendly chat' can you ask him to tell them they're insulting us.

If they want treating with respect its high time they treated us with respect.

None of this sending Kristian Walsh to cover Everton games or cover our club either.

Thanks.

Did they acknowledge it thought?

My reading of their sport's editor's acknowledgement was that they'd got nothing wrong and it was just the way things are.

Well that for one needs shooting down.

Please get them to acknowledge that Everton fan's IQ isn't that of a Jelly Baby.

Some of us earn more than those ECHO reporters/editors do.

A damn lot more @the esk

Frankly they are insulting our club with their drivel.

I am happy to admit we have lost our way a little bit. We strive to offer the same level of coverage to Blues as we do to Reds and we have worked hard over the last few weeks to improve our processes to ensure this.

Some of the problem has been technical and we are making changes to our website to correct this. Some of it has been resource driven and we have taken on a mobile website editor to ensure we get the balance we need when people look at us on a phone - increasingly the way our online news is consumed. We get the message loud and clear that we need ask the difficult questions of Everton’s board in the same way we do of Liverpool's.
