I'm a PC gamer and hopefully always will be. I can understand the decision to get a console based on, easy put the game in and it works always compared to, put the game in, tweak settings, hopefully it runs. I'm hoping to find out why people actually buy consoles in this thread.

There's too many reasons why I love PC and will always stick by it, but I'll list some below.

PC configuration can't be matched by consoles and it will always be like that. The graphics on PC are incredible. I cringe at hearing how good graphics are on a new console game when it looks just as [Poor language removed] as 5 years ago's graphics.

Keyboard+mouse is the best for most games, no matter how good you get with a controller there are always bits and pieces of manouverability (is that a word?) and skill which you lack with a controller. On top of that, I can just sync an xbox controller to my PC and play most games that I want to with it. I only use it for PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER THE BEST FOOTBALL VIDEO GAME (chico back me up son).

RPG's - Baldurs Gate, Dragon Age, Diablo
Strategy games - Starcraft, Warcraft, etc.
These games are absolutely incredible, games that gamers should have to play and can only be fully enjoyed using a keyboard and mouse.

I could only imagine price being the issue and easy-of-use, but seriously, you pay for what you get and PC is far and away the best experience for gaming

used to play cod 3 on my pc loved it! but thats as you said only cuz it worked! though i found the hacks where everyware in the end and even punkbuster didnt stop it!

ps3 now though as its to just switch it on and chill on the sofa play games, kids love the singstar's and the move games and its on my 37" tv instead of my 19" pc monitor!

The PS3 is an amazing (Computer) Basically.. To say the PC Graphics are better? I can't understand..
I play games on PC and PS3 and graphically there is no difference..

Keyboard and Mouse are more responsive than Analog controllers.. True Enough..

Those RPG's you mentioned are Oldschool, Diablo?LOL awesome game, but come on.. Left click until your finger explodes..

Overall the Console is just far more convenient..

Seriously though, I haven't had a console since a PS2. I for one just couldnt find any games I liked any more, Football Manager is all I play, but have wondered about getting a few more PC games, but I've never been sure if they would be any good, or better on a console (which I would of course, have to buy)

Xbox for me. I cba paying hundreds every year to keep my pc up to speed to be able to play top end games.When they bring in this cloud gaming business I might be singing a different tune though.

There is no best gaming platform, because everyone has their own preference.


For me I prefer the 360 as my main console, with the DS for portable games. I also play the PS3 and PC too, and enjoy them, just not as much.

Haha no ways man, I've had mine for over 2 years now, it's nothing special! I've realised theres way more console users than PC and with all PC's advantages, I'd think it'd at least be a bit even. I download one file and have my pro evo revamped with full kits, logo's, player faces, updated stats, etc. AND don't ever compare me to those that bow to the feet of Steve Jobs.

You can say the graphics on PC are better, but these days because console gaming is where the money is, developers are making games for consoles and porting them to PC,

Look at Crysis 2 for example.

Anyway my main console is the 360 but I still play the PS3 every now and again.

I've got both, mate. There's not much difference, but the xbox live arcade and control pad make the 360 my main console. The PS Pad has never sat right in my hands, and those 'triggers' are awful.

The exact same reason I prefer 360 aswell. The control seems tiny in my hands.

PC has MUCH better graphics than PS3 and xbox. I don't even have a great PC by todays standards and for example, Black Ops is an abomination on my friends PS3 compared to my PC. I don't think this should even be up for debate.

Developers are building games designed for consoles because that's where the money is and on the issue of Crysis 2:

“As long as the current console generation exists and as long as we keep pushing the PC as well, the more difficult it will be to really get the benefit of both,” Crytek boss Cevat Yerli told the mag.
“PC is easily a generation ahead right now. With 360 and PS3, we believe the quality of the games beyond Crysis 2 and other CryEngine developments will be pretty much limited to what their creative expressions is, what the content is. You won’t be able to squeeze more juice from these rocks.
I generally think it’s still developers’ mentality [to blame],” he added. “A lot nowadays don’t consider PC a big issue any more; their [sales] expectations are nowhere near what they are for the console versions. Until the PC market creates comparable revenues, companies are not going to spend enough on the PC SKU of a game.”
