I know what you mean, but sitting in work from Friday to Monday in an NHS oncall room, I'd love a desktop and I used to be an avid PC gamer, but I also need something to occupy me while I wait to be called.

As long as you know what you're getting in to...that's the main thing.
What kind of games are you planning on playing? If it’s things like football manager you wouldn’t need a particularly powerful laptop and could use a relatively cheap one

There's a Republic of Gamers 1 sat upstairs & hardly gets used, I'm just waiting for the opportunity to lay claim to it.
He said I might as well have it once & I was too slow, I'd only just inherited 1 of the other kids 1's and got it how I wanted it so just cba at that time... he claimed it back a cpl of weeks later.
He (I) bought it off ebay, listed as an unwanted present that was a month old and got it for £650 which was half price btw
