I can't agree, fella. Rules and regulations don't cover ever aspect of a sport. No fifa rule out laws the use of tactical nuclear warheads to gain an advantage in a game, but I'm pretty sure it would be considered cheating (by all but the rs) .
Thierry Henri dumping the Eire team out of the world cup by using his hand was cheating AND was against the rules and regulations and became gamesmanship when he didn't own up to an aberration - to me as an impartial observer, they didn't win the game even though fifa and the "blind" officials would claim they did to make sure one of the bigger teams got to their finals.

There is no justification for gamesmanship or cheating.

To me the sports field should be for honest endeavour. Did you feel good every time steevy mee managed to stay on his feet all through his run until he got over the white line of the penalty area? Did you enjoy watching him wave an imaginary card for the ref to get an opponent sent off?

No really, if you score and the opposition do not you have won the game even if it's by cheating.

Of course not. But the Kopites did, and that's the game.

Used to play (football not sexually) with a lad that used to do that ALL THE TIME. He thought it was hilarious but it got to the point where at training you'd be arguing over who is marking him.

One of our centre-halves was a master of sportsmanship. He'd basically grab the forward at the beginning of the game and say 'get past me and I'm having you'. Was usually enough to keep them quiet for the game.

If he kept doing it; you'd think that somebody would just kick him on his achilles tendon or something similar to make him stop? That way he could learn that free colonoscopies aren't for everybody.

He was a pervert. Pretty sure he'd love it.
