Where does Stopyra come into this mate? Have I just made him up? Sure he was in that French midfield but as you have said in a previous post it was Giresse I was thinking of.

Tbh his name doesn't ring a bell. But with my memory that doesn't mean much.

Had to look up and check. Played a few games in the 86 World Cup and scored a couple of goals. Last game in that WC was in round of 16 vs Italy, scored in 2-0 win. Not found out why he didn't play after that. He was a striker.
Wiki is rubbish. French federation site has him selected for Qf and semi versus Germany.
