keep hearing about this, but I still don't really understand what it is and what we don't do correctly?

clearly with a minute to go you don't want to attack and we weren't doing that today

one example where we actually seemed to do this brilliantly was 1st leg against man city, keep ball for last 5 minutes

so is it tactics or players and if players is it inexperience?

thanks

who'd have thought Chelsea would try and come back after being 2-0 and 3-2 down eh?! This is the current champions for heavens sake. They were bound to come looking for an equaliser. The sickener here is the crazy amount of time added on and the offside.

Someone said on twitter earlier: Everton cleared 2 attacks and played a man offside in the 98th minute. What exactly did they do wrong?

For me (other than the first goal) the defending wasn't really the problem. After we got the lead, we could hardly get a sniff of the ball and they just kept lobbing balls into the box.

Which in itself is game management - play on your teams weaknesses by lobbing balls into the box, safe in the knowledge that the star jumping clown in goal will stay on his line and panicky defenders will treat the ball as a live hand-grenade

Tbh i never really felt like we were under much of a threat after we scored the 3rd. We were seeing it out okay, maybe Dels inexperience showed when he went on the attack and lost it instead of keeping it safe though before they scored
