Game in hand

Our game in hand (away to Arsenal) could be key. If we won it we could overtake the Gunners, close to within 3 points of fourth-placed Spurs and put 6 points between us and Liverpool. And the task isn't as formidable as it has been in recent years for a number of reasons:

  • In recent matches at the Emirates Arsenal have been beaten by Bayern Munich, Blackburn and City, held by Liverpool and only narrowly overcame Villa, Stoke and Swansea.
  • Wilshere and Diaby's injury concerns mean that they are short on numbers in defensive midfield.
  • The last time that either Giroud or Walcott found the net in a league game was 6 matches ago in January.
  • Mis-firing Stoke are the only team in the league not to score at the Emirates since Christmas.

Which means both Giroud and Walcott will score against us and we won't score.

Think we'll draw this one and lose to spurs, and win at Anfield (by the law of averages it's surely got to happen this year)

Ha,our last away win at arsenal i think was that 2-1 win when Kanchelskis scored the winner by the end in 96-17 years ago,And ian wright did his usual flick over one defender's head, then another then score's,he did the same in a game just a few games before us,we always seem to conceed in the last 20 at arsenal-whats new compared to other games then.

I remember that game. I never got to too many away games but then was one of them. Amokachi also hit the bar from about 3 yards out. It was a good game

If we're still in the hunt, I think we'll do them.

It's like I said earlier this year - going out of the FA Cup may just be the best thing possible for our league campaign. No distractions and where we stand now we're not expected to cause a major challenge to the top four.

The pressure is on and off at the same time; which means the big players in our squad will relish the challenge and the mentally lightweight in our squad won't feel the expectation.

My guess is that it'll be a roll of the dice come the final game of the season, depending on three points either way, we could be a win away from 4th or 5th.

I reckon we've had hard lines against them for a few years now. We'll **** them and turn the RS over too.

All this talk of not winning for so many years, well we had never won at Spurs for 20 years and did them, same at Leeds but that was 40 odd years (or around that).

We have a good side that has a tendency to shoot itself in the foot but on our day we can beat anybody so who knows.

Cliche time - We have a few cup finals left to play in the hunt for Europe and maybe 4th so lets go there and do them and Spurs and the RS.
