Have you heard of the curse? They last won it in 1951, and on the way back to Mayo they stopped to celebrate and disrupted a funeral, and pissed off the folk there. The priest told them that Mayo would never win another final until the last member of the 1951 team had died.. there is currently 1 left alive he's 95 years old.. and Mayo have lost 11 finals since 1951.Only popped into this thread having heard this morning that Mayo were the perennial bridesmaids when it came to the final.
Seems they'll have to wait a while longer.
