Fullbacks

why aren't our fullbacks going forward as much? Is this due to tactical changes or do you think teams have figured us out? This is worrying as we lack width more often than not now.

Could say a bit of everything,players playing in not there normal postions stoping coleman/baines going forward,plus both probably not trusting the players in front to cover them when they go forward,and some trying to man mark both etc

I'd say it's because they are having to do more defending..strange thing to say as they are actually defenders...however, the midfield lately seems to provide so little cover due to players in wrong positions/caught in possession etc that there's little chance of the full backs bombing on.
The midfield needs sorting, that's where the problem lies imo

Even when they get forward there poor, quite a few times colemans got forward in the last few games and has ran into brick walls, and with baines his final ball has been shocking

The early season poor defensive form and the goals conceded due to it probably knocked the confidence out of the team in general. Imo clearly affected the full backs

We haven't gone on a winning streak at all. If we could get a 3 or 4 game winning run together I'm sure we'd see the Everton of last season.

Neither of them have got anyone in front of them to link up with, Baines looked hacked off the other day when he kept looking up the line to find Barkley or Mirallas had drifted infield time and time again. We need wide players left and right for them to overlap.

Because we're losing possession too frequently in the attacking areas to justify the risk of being caught out of position.

Nobody to link up with & if they go forward themselves we're even easier to hit on the break, if thats possible
