Player Valuation: Free Transfer
I love your football at the moment- Its great to see a team play this way. And i am really glad that losing moyes has almost aided you and you are progressing- I hope you keep your players and manager and I hope you can improve and go for that top 4 gain next season. Its been a delight watching you play.

Anyway on to my question.

Is ross barkley better in the no 10 role or as a full on deeper box to box style CM?

I am having an argument with a lad on another forum. Can you lot give me some insight into where you think he plays best and where you think he will end up.

PS: 2-3 (palace result not citehs) :)

Is Ross going to Palace:p?

Ross's best position is the attacking midfielder role he normally plays this season. He isn't good enough to be a complete CM yet as his defensive attribute is a bit weak.

Attacking mid with free role, will be a better Stevie GBH with experience, but for now attack attack attack.

Less of the "almost" :)

No 10 for me too. Love the way Ross beats people off either foot

At the minute hes best as a deeper number 10, hes not quite got the guile yet to be the out n out number 10 playmaker, but hes still a bit naive to player as a traditonal CM, so somewhere in between were he can pick it up and drive forward.

Can see him dropping deeper though in a season or two when he wises up to the role more, hes shown little glimpses at times this season when hes played there mainly against the better teams were hes run the show

Further up the pitch is a must, that way he will score more goals and is less likely to give goals away if tackled in our half.

Right now, in the number 10 role. However I think he could grow into a world class box to box central midfielder. He lacks that bit of vision to be a great number 10.

If this lad was playing in Spain, he would not be asked to undertake any defensive duties, they focus on players strengths. I think RM knows this but has recently had to change his role due to injuries.

That through ball to Naismith, though? Curse you Joe Hart... curse you!

But yeeah I know what you mean, I think he's got the vision to a degree but gets caught up in the moment when he's on the ball. Like for example, for his Newcastle goal I was screaming for him to thread Lukaku though, so was he, but he just kept going and thankfully blasted home.
