Hey lads, Bohemians fan and Everton follower here. I've just heard a few minutes ago that Everton are coming to Dublin to play a friendly against Bohs this Tuesday. It's unconfirmed for the time being, just pending the FAI's approval to allow Bohs to move a cup game we have for that day. I'm also led to understand Everton would be bringing a strong squad over. Anybody else know anything about this? Organised to keep Everton players fit etc as a replacement for the Spurs game. Cheers.

Went to the last one at Dalymount in April 2006. We brought a youth team over which included the tumbling 17 year-old Anichebe and Scott Phelan, who was academy player of the season (whatever happened to him ?). A dour 0-0 snoozefest it was. This would be just another fitness exercise probably.

Did Everton come over in 03, or am I making that up ? I think I remember being at that game, but I don't remember anything about it really. Fitness exercise is exactly what I'd think it'll be, yeah. Get some match sharpness in that the players would be missing from the canceled game tomorrow. Really hope this game gets the go ahead!

I like the idea of us playing a game to keep us on our toes. I don't like the idea of us playing mid-week though, nor do I like the idea of us playing a league of Ireland team. No offence, like, but it's not comparable to the test we would have got against Spurs.

At this stage though, Tuesday is probably the soonest that the club would have been able to get a game in. Perhaps Monday, but meh, doesn't make that much of a difference I'd say. Most likely more of a run out for the players, give them some time in a match as opposed to training session - rather than having a real test like away to Spurs. I think it'd be great for both parties.

Latest I'm hearing is it'll be this Monday, not Tuesday, 7.45 kick off. And Everton are bringing the first team over. €15 tickets for adults, for anyone interested. Delighted with this game now!

EDIT: Many Irish fans on this site ?

Please let this be true , and please Everton bring a stronger squad than you did on your last visit to Dalymount , by my reckoning the last time we brought a strong squad over was against Bray in 2004 , far too long ago .

Monday sounds a lot better. And yeah, playing Bohemians would be a much better test than no test at all!

This has me suddenly monstrously excited. Leaving the country in September, had resigned myself to not seeing us play until probably the beginning of the season after this one.

Anyone any details on where to pick up a ticket? It's listed on Ticketmaster as not on sale yet. At the gate, or should to go to Dalymount and get one tomorrow?

I would say you would be safe enough to pick one up at Dalymount on the day of the game , iv been on Bohs site no confirmation of game there , can anyone confirm that this game is on .

Cheers for that, I've just seen that Bohemians' box office is closed on weekends anyway. Will probably go over early enough on Monday to be safe. Here's hoping the rumours are true.

Big time mate , its been far too long since wev brought a decent squad over , I had to check the ticket but couldnt believe that game in Bray was 7 years ago , hope to god its true .

Ticket should be no problem once you get to Dalymount early enough on matchday .
