Barnes picked up a broken foot and then a bad knee injury and at one time it seemed that his career was over. Prior to the injuries he was the next big thing.

Spector at RB for the USMNT has been nothing short of a disaster recently (and he was moved from there by West Ham). And he's fourth down the depth chart at LB even with a dire LB situation for the USMNT. Even Bornstein gets played over him (and that's saying a lot - not a Bornstein fan). He has also been squarely not in the 18 for the US at the Gold Cup.

As a midfielder he was showing promise, but in all honesty, I think he's not EPL material. Would do great in the Champions League or a top player in tier 2 Europe or MLS.

Pass.

(Also was supposedly offered a contract at West Ham but turned it down. Which as a USMNT fan I think is downright dumb. Based on his performance don't know which top EPL team is going to pick him up instead. Don't want it to be us. Sorry Specs. Eric Lichaj/Timmy Chandler on the other hand...)

One could easily put together an entire team fitting to beat any bottom-half contenders from that bank.

I rate Spector, he is decent indeed. Seb Larsson being linked with Arsenal. Carew should be a decent target, so is Reo-Coker. Jlloyd Samuel as cover for Baines.

Richard Kingson was really impressive in goal last season. Might be nice to bring in if Mucha moves, which i rate as a likely thing.
