Skybet running a cracking little promo. Tho you must already have an active registered acc.

I wouldn't post this unless it was a no-brainer.

Arsenal, Liverpool & Middlesbrough all to win (was 2/1 NOW 3/1)

Max bet is £10. If it loses they put £10 back into your account as cash (not in the way of a free bet)

It's the proverbial freeroll

"If your Soccer Special Price Boost bet does not win, we will refund the full amount of your bet into your Sky Bet account as withdrawable cash within 24 hours of the final result."

Damn, got that email and deleted it without even reading it! :o :(

skybet stopped 'allowing' me to take part in any of their promotions. Funny, I won a decent wedge from them one day and then they decided to make this 'trading decision'. Paddy did the same and a few others, its unbelievable to me that they can do that tbh as im sure had I lost a load of money that would be sending me emails encouraging me to gamble more with promos etc

Mate, it's standard practice.

The truth is that most "Bookies" are nothing of the kind now. They are not in the practice of "making a book" - ie balance their bets so that they don't care what the outcome is. Nowadays they operate by take the market view and laying bets at slightly below market price, so on any single event they may profit or lose (same as the punter) but over the long term they will make profit because the punter is taking below-market prices.

Secondly, all bookies would rather you just leave their sportsbook alone altogether and head over to their online casino - which is really just some random number generators that are gauranteed to return negative EV to the punter. It's a far safer way for bookies to operate.

very interesting article and I'm glad that they are at least thinking of doing something about it. Some bets are limited to less than £1 (paddy power the worst) which is ridiculous and the minimum lay idea sounds like a good one.
Lol at the skybet CEO saying they target leisure gamblers meaning not professional gamblers that would make money out of his company, no S Sherlock
