Blue Wiz

Player Valuation: £25m
Ok, Moyes said that he will try and expand our squad by bringing in bosmans or loandeals that might not be first-team material. So I'm starting to wonder what player might be of interest to us among these free agents, or other very cheap players.

Since they are free we can afford to take some shots in the dark and hope for a good hit or two.

Michael Ball have been circulating here before and I think he'd be a good addition as a backup for Baines since we need cover there since Lescott will be playing CD together with Yobo and later with Jags. And if Baines get a knock and can't play for a shorter stint we need an experienced LB to take his place.

Jerome Thomas had an injury-ridden season with Portsmouth but he have potential. He's 26 years old and have played more than 100 PL games already, so he have experience. I'm not saying he'd be a regular, but as a backup he might be worth a shot. If Moyes can help him get his career back, we would have another style of player to use. This would be more like a shot in the dark though... with a blindfold on.

I don't know about Ball, a little bit too much nostaliga there and is he really good enough? I haven't seen him play for years and he hasn't been a regular for a long time. His career is a waste of talent and it would be great to see him perform at top level again, but I don't think he will.

Isn't Ball crocked? Bad knees?

If he could stay fit, I'd have him as cover. I was gutted when he left us for Rangers, and his career has gone steadily downhill from there.
