HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. You'll watch a better production watching a dodgy river.

Only four of the match-day commentators – John Strong, Stu Holden, JP Dellacamera and Tony Meola, seeing as no one asked – will actually be in situ for the matches they cover; the rest of the games, the vast bulk of them, will be called off regular camera feeds from a studio in Los Angeles.

But what about the players, you might ask, and don’t worry: Fox has you covered on that front, with a comprehensive rundown on the sport’s up-and-coming “phenoms”. The guide includes genuine rising stars, such as German midfielder Julian Weigl and Paulo Dybala of Juventus and Argentina, as well as Senegal’s Alhassane Sylla, currently taking the world by storm from the bench of Portuguese second division club União Madeira, and Kellyn Acosta, the US national team defender whose World Cup prospects are so bright he’ll be watching the tournament from his couch at home in Texas. Sylla is so good he’s not in Senegal’s squad for Russia. Phenomenal indeed.

Have you watched phenoms? Perhaps it is a misleading title, but I actually think the show in itself is good. They clearly started filming this 2 years ago and just followed everyone's life in the lead up to the world cup. The fact that it includes so much disappointment makes it a better product, it reflects reality better. Guys getting injured, having poor runs after a transfer, being left off the squad are more interesting and human to watch.

Fox’s soccer coverage is absolutely horrible. It actually makes me less likely to watch a game if they broadcast it. There was an MLS game recently where they spent the whole match zoomed in so tight on the ball you could barely see anything happening around it.

ESPN raised the bar so high at the last two World Cups that it will be embarrassing how much Fox fails to clear it.

Also hilarious as they bid so much for it and now we arent in it so they Lalas trying to get people to root for Mexico lol

There are a lot of things I don’t like about Fox’s soccer coverage, but I really hate how they throw it back to the studio for their dunce cap panel to talk nonsense literally the second the final whistle blows, no matter what happened at the end of the match. NBC and ESPN are much better at soaking in the scenes for a little while before they go back to the studio, plus they have better pundits.

I did. Thought it was a BBC production. Yea its decent and didn't think it was pre-WC thing. I didn't know that's what they were talking about.

Would make sense if it was BBC produced because it was very well done imo. And agree with you, fox sports is pretty lackluster
