what happens in this lounge and is there any particular benefit to it over the regular forums. Just something i've always been curious about.

  • Why? - What's the point
The notion is that, you deserve the opportunity to post in a more relaxed environment. I think such a forum can be afforded given that you've paid to sustain GrandOldTeam, which gives the assumption that you value and respect the community. With this in mind, we can trust such members to not 'take the piss'.

By 'not take the piss', we mean common sense notions apply, clearly abuse, racism and that ilk is clearly not permitted. Perhaps not as obvious, but important to clarify, is any discussion concerning a member who does not have access to this forum is strictly forbidden and will result in you losing access to the VIP Lounge. Even one joke or pretense of this type of behaviour in other forums will result in the same action. Equally, if concerns arise towards clique behaviour, or we notice a unhealthy trend of discussion in here spilling into other forums then the VIP Lounge will be deleted. The VIP lounge needs to be kept a separate entity to avoid alienating other members in the other forums.

All this is no doubt common sense, and I’m sure you appreciate the rationale behind this forum.

With regards to how relaxed the VIP Lounge should be, answers on a post card... Feedback is particularly appreciated at this stage. This is your forum.

  • What’s the difference with the Ale House
In here, you can walk around in your boxies. Treat this place as a more relaxed version of the Ale House.

If you use the VIP Lounge, please don't rely on the moderation team to ensure all posts are 'Safe For Work'. It's probably best to assume all posts are 'NSFW'. The VIP Lounge will effectively be an 18+ forum. If you look like me, remember to bring your ID...

I also anticipate the VIP Lounge to be used to gather feedback with regards to planned proposals for the site. "Will this work?" - "What do you think on this....", before revealing such to the masses to be shot at.

Admittedly, we are a pretty uptight forum. It stems from an almost unhealthy obsession with ensuring we provide a 'user-friendly' platform for Evertonians to confidently provide an opinion without abuse. It's why GrandOldTeam was established, and one glance at other Everton forums provides instant motivation to continue this stance. On the whole, I think we achieve this well. The VIP Lounge could be a way to provide members with the best of both world, ensuring we don't sacrifice 'banter'.
