'Lurkers' - those who frequently browse, but don't post. The bane of my life.

We have a ridiculous amount on here.

To put the endemic into perspective, last week, we had 1 post for every 1612 page loads.

I did put it down to Evertonians being lazy gits, and 1600 of those page loads probably being from those who simply can't be arsed clicking Register - I mean, when I make the Everton Forum 'Member Read Only', we get hundreds of new accounts per day...

But recently, I've had a closer look at the stats and our ratio of members logged in per posts made is pitiful.

It's not like we're an intimidating bunch - so why do so many browse but don't post?

The girlfriend browses GrandOldTeam and regularly talks about threads and what she'd like to post but bottles out - despite being massively confident in public, she can't bring herself to post on here. I ask why, and she resorts to calling you all weirdos. She's right like, but that's beside the point.

Has anyone had 'Forum Posting' phobia in the past and got past it to successfully post? How did you do it? - What caused the anxiety in the first place?

hi danny you okay mate

Maybe I'm the wrong person to answer here...

...but the GOT Twitter account has like 23000 followers. Maybe a little bit of creative Tweeting to get some of them posting?

Just an idea mate.

To be fair, the thread you highlight as being non-intimidating does have a photo-manipulated dead squirrel dancing to Thriller in it.

I had massive forum phobia before I became one of you tits. It's weird looking back on it now but I was genuinly afraid to post.

Being serious though - do I intimidate people?

You know, because I argue a lot and stuff.

I hope so, I really do. I'm going to change my avatar to a Nazi skinhead to reinforce the point of so.
