Player Valuation: £80m
On the news yesterday. A couple of lads ram raided a car showroom with a Land Rover, hooked a tow cable to the Escort and towed it out and away. They ignore the Ferraris, Lambos in there just wanted the Escort, showed they had taste!

Caught me because back in 1973 I had an identical Mexico to that stolen, with alloys, Cibie lighting kit etc. The reg was OKA 110M. I have tried and tried to trace with aview to getting it back but no luck. Lats trace was in South Cumbria. In their day they were great cars. Back then I was into competition. P/Xed the Mex for an RS2000.

Anyone else with car stories?

This was known as the Mercury Capri over here in the States. My mate had one of these and we drove across the country in what was it, 1975??

Something like that. Second to the Datsun 2000 I babysat for another mate while he went to 'Nam, this was the most fun I had behind the wheel in the 70's. Mind you, I drove some right POS rides back then under my own ownership.

I had an Audi Quattro in 1988. Not the flashiest looking car but the 2.8l V6 was a joy.

Loved that car and it saved my life in a head on collision at 60 mph

College I went to in Walkden had a Lotus Escort in the workshop for Students to tinker with, I tried & tried to get the teacher to get them to swap me but he said the day it left that college there'd only be 1 person that'd be driving it... HIM. He said it hardly had any miles on it & hadn't been outside since it was about 5 years old. He thought that it had been donated by a Ford Dealer that used to send apprentices there.

I've got an e46 330d that i love like, bit old these days but it sounds lovely for a diesel. Surely they will locate this nicked Mexico, there can't be too many matching number models on the roads now?
