For the nerds - sofware you got to have

What software ( other than the usuals like office, browsers etc) do you need to have/do yo find very useful to have installed on your computer?

Mines are:
Spacesniffer ( find out what is filling up up your harddrive)
Lockhunter ( Cant delete a file or folder? Find out what is locking it)
search everything ( very good program to find a specific file or folder on your computer)
snipping tool ( preinstalled in windows, but I mention this anyway. Very good tool to take a screenshot of the part of the screen u want)
VLC ( the best mediaplayer IMO)
google drive ( easy access to your online files/backups)
 

Handbrake - converts video files to work on Apple shizz
Ccleaner - registry cleaner, fixes issues and prevents issues if you throw it on periodically
PS3/universal media server - both programs buffer and stream very well to my PS3 and PS4.
DVD decrypter - if this program still existed *wink wink* I'd use it to convert my dvds to file form for watching on mobile devices

Been using VLC/videolan for about fourteen years and never found anything better.
 
Agent Ransack is life for finding files if you're on windows - it supports regex and is simply far faster than explorer.
Sublime Text - my favorite free text editor out there, has loads of plugin support for various languages and preferences
putty - preferred ssh client
 


Notepad++
FastStone Image Resizer
Actual Windows Manager
AudioSwitcher
Some program that let's me easily switch windows between monitors, but I forget what it's called.
Another one where you can swap your mouse between different machines, even Mac/PC.
