STILL TRYING TO FIND OUT ABOUT A DOCDRAMA WHICH WAS ONE OF THOSE DAYTIME YOUTH PRODUCTIONS, IT'S ABOUT A GROUP OF YOUNG LADS WHO SET OUT HITCHING TO WATCH THEIR TEAM IN EUROPE, AND IT TURNS OUT THAT THEY ARE BLUES AND THE GAME IS THE SITTARD AWAY LEG. ANY IDEA ANYONE ? PROBABLY INSPIRED BY THIS TBH.

Sounds very interesting!:):):)

well it was in the years following cos it had match footage, it was one of those low budget jobs, not exactly "brought to you by the childrens television workshop" but i remember it as a daytime jobbie and as a youth production which is probably why no-one seems to remember it, but then a lot of people were at home in those days so suprised nobody can recall it.
bet there's some great trackies and trainers in it, probably some of the actors went on to play more well known characters as well, i'll probably find out, find it and it'll be [Poor language removed] they were a right bunch of scallies as i remember, i remember it showed the sittard streaker.

Well i dont know about you lot but i thought that was great. I loved the footage of alex young he looked [Poor language removed] hot , way before his time. A bit like the programme itself, an early one from ken loach. Even today you dont get many dramas with that kind of realism. People talking over each other etc, rather than waiting to say there line. Superb

just watching a programme about z-cars.
didn't realise brian blessed, sorry i mean
BRIAN BLESSED !!
was in it, he'd make a great stadium announcer.we should get him in even if just for a game, it'd liven the crowd up for certain.
was it supposed to be set in liverpool ? if it was then the accent hasn't half changed since then, strenghthening my theory that a lot has been 'PUT ON' over the years, i know my grandad didn't talk like the scalls of today with all the cccchhhh!! an all that.
what say you coyney ? bet your accent isnt like what you hear in the streets today.

We could have BB as a match commentator and we'd all be able to follow the match without having our radios on:lol:
