There was a footy manager type game on the spectrum.. But it's name evades me right now..
The first transfer offered was always Russel Osman..

Nitendo world cup on the NES, great tunes, boss overhead kicks that curl round the entire pitch, and slighty racist stereotypical intros depending on which country you were playing

I think it may have been Sensi in the early 90's. But my first real footy game was FIFA on the Mega Drive. Who remembers the awesomeness of the 3D isometric viewpoint.....
