It's quite funny when you think about it. I always wondered how players issue a come and get me plea. I reckon they video themselves saying "I BEG YOU TO COME AND GET ME, PLEASE!!!" Or how do clubs issue a hands off warning? Maybe a fax, black on white A4. "HANDS OFF LUKAKU"

What about slapping a price tag on a player? Sticky label on butt cheek?

Which ones do you find funny?
 

When someone "join the chase", "win the race," "gazump." Then of course there is the "warchest," a manager gets handed to "fend off rivals."

And of course lest we forget the players: "as soon as I heard of whatever team I have just signed for, they were the only club for me." "The managers philosophy won me over."

i hate it when they refer to someone as a bargain buy. Someone like gana gueye, £7m is a bargain buy. Bloody bargain!!!! that's probably more money than the whole of the forum could put together in life time savings.
 

Not quite transfer lingo, but the phrase "xxxxx warns team mates that **** (an ex team mate) will be dangerous in their next game." I always imagine this said ofter xxxxx has passed a memo around calling everyone to a special briefing in the changing rooms after a training session.


Oh really? I'm sure the nobody in the coaching staff had even thought about each opposition player or even considered they'd be any good.
 
I always look forward to the 'unveiling' of a new player.
