Can someone give me an idea what the Football Manager game is all about please?

Must you get it by the start of the season?
Is last years no longer playable?

What goes on pray tell?

You can get it whenever you want. Start whenever you want, the game will always begin at the start of this season, you can still get last years but your really better off getting this years.

If you cheat really, really hard, you can build a team like this, but it takes a few £000m.

It's pretty geeky. Very statto. If you're into spending hours looking at players statistics to decide who's best, and like to watch the players carry out your instructions without playing the games yourself, then you'll prob like it. Be warned, it will eat your life if you let it!

And did you lose all the time against teams who play wide?

Narrow formations are better in FM10. Wingers struggle to make an impact.

Chelsea's narrow 4-1-2-1-2 is probably the best formation to go with atm. Though patch 10.3 did help with width issues.
