Not yet up on the Everton site but via the various other clubs, these are the fixture times/dates for our Checkatrade Trophy games:

CHECKATRADE TROPHY - Northern Group Stage, Group A:

Tuesday August 30th
Bolton vs Everton (Macro Stadium, 7pm kick off - early kick off time).

Bolton haven't announced ticket news yet but said it will be available soon.

Tuesday October 4th
Cheltenham vs Everton (Abbey Business Stadium, 7:45pm kick off).

Tuesday November 8th
Everton vs Blackpool (at Goodison Park, 7:30pm kick off).

The full fixture list with dates and times is here:

Worth bearing in mind that we might be playing our Under 23s in this, but to the other teams we're playing, this is a full first team fixture for them. So it's a step above just being a reserve game.

Buggered if I'm going to Cheltenham but the Macron's only just up the road from us so that's worked out nicely.

Even though it's August it will still be blowing a gale across the retail park and may well be slashing it down too, so make sure your winter North Face gear is dusted off lads.

Can we get beyond the group stage of this? Heard a few people say that the young prem teams are only in it for experience and can't actually progress, similar to "B" teams in Spain not being able to get promotion.

Formerly Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Southampton count this as an honour lol

Being made at 10-30 today. Here's the group;

Our U21's will play this I think. Didn't realise a few teams including LFC aren't in it.

Ooh miss playing bolton
Are they still the grockiest grocks that ever grocked?

No, all teams are allowed to progress and ultimately win it, regardless of who they are. There's no restrictions.

That's why so many lower league clubs are up in arms about it, because they fear missing out on a trip to Wembley to one of the Prem U-23 sides.

I really hate the whole idea of this tournament now. We shouldn't even be in it.

Football is getting so messed up recently. Ever since failed champions league teams got bunged in to the Europe League to totally negate the whole point of the competition and devalue it.

Selfishly, as an EFC fan, I'm not bothered. It will be good for our youngsters to gain experience, and hopefully it will lead to a few of them knocking on the door of the first team.
