Then compare to the classic simplicity of the one worn by George Best......

I don't mind the sponsor when the sponsor looks good on the shirt.

The likes of Chevrolet on shirts looks awful, but when it's a decent logo (in the right colour), it looks great:

In an ideal world there would be no sponsors however we have come that far now and have experienced that many shirts with sponsors that one's without them do look a bit 'empty'. Last season's Roma shirt (and this season's) didn't have a sponsor and it looks really well. However, as a prime example, when I was in Rome and talking to a Roma fan, we were discussing the new shirt but he couldn't stop himself from harking back to compare it to their classic 'Barilla' sponsored shirt of the '80's, à la Giuseppe Giannini. He was no fan of sponsors but he said it just 'looked right'.

Again, I don't mind them once they don't look bad. Have you ever seen some of the French or Belgian league sides? There are sponsors galore all over the place on some of them!

Yup. Liverpool were the first 'professional' team to have a sponsor but they love to claim that they were the first team - Kettering beat them by a year.

I don't think sponsors necessarily look bad, a lot of logos look well on shirts. Chevrolet isn't one of them though.
