I am an early riser and checking what is on Talking Pictures TV I see that 'Cup Fever' is on at 9.45 this morning Sat 17

if you see this, and have the channel I strongly recommend you watch it.
Old fogies will especially enjoy it.
Bobby Charlton, George Best , Matt Busby ending with Bert Trautmann the German former POW who famously played on with a broken neck in the 1957 Cup Final.
'The children of Barton United are trying to win the cup in their local football league. Nasty councillor Mr Bates doesn't like them and wants the team his son plays for to win instead so he makes life as difficult as he can for them. However, Barton United are offered help by the local professional team that just happens to be Manchester United with its manager Matt Busby.' - IMDb

Awwww! No Sky+ ??

It's on Youtube just 61 minutes. Really a film for 1965 kids' audience, but fascinating to see some greats of the United team at that time as well as the great Matt Busby. Trautmann an added bonus. I still of a football book from 1973 that shows the tackle which broke his neck,

I remember as a young kid being fascinated at his playing on - probably one of the reasons I absolutely despise modern footballers that feign injury and their pathetic antics if they are even barely touched by an opponent.

This is interesting for obvious reasons !!!

Westy and Labby telling the cops to go easy on Eddie Kavanagh is brilliant.

On Monday.

I saw this many moons ago, about a murder at Highbury, wasn't too bad.

I will definitely Sky+ that.
