What history though mate? Now we have excluded the tainted victory on home soil, what exactly is there but decades of fans with ideas way about their station watching England teams getting their pants pulled down in tournaments all over the world?

How does that make anyone proud?

Well did it not happen in 66? I was proud of 86 and 90.

Good international teams win tournaments on foreign soil, like I said it's like highlighting that Everton are good because they once played a full season at Goodison won something. It doesn't add up.

86 was a humiliating quarter final exit against the first decent team they played.

90 was an embarrassing semi final penalty defeat against a Germany team there for the taking, and also the first decent team they
had played. I don't class Belgium or Cameroon as credible opponents to be honest.

Don't let history paper over the cracks, England were [Poor language removed] in both tournaments.

So, why the pride?
