It highlights an interesting way we look at footballers. They get paid well so we ignore general safety concerns. People should be protected from injury at work, and should get support after they leave the job for any problems caused by the job.
American Football has got a major problem with it that isn’t taken as seriously as it should be. This should be something that is talked about and looked at

The nfl address it now better then ever. The players are all aware of the risks and that's all you can really do.

Then it is up to the player to decide if the risks are worth taking or not. I'd say for 99% they will take the risk and the money.

American football are doing a good job of trying to protect their players. Was at the American football the other week and a player went off due to ‘concussion risk’ which is picked up by sensors in all the players helmets which detect head impacts.

Obviously this wouldn’t work for our version of football, but I’m sure technology could become available
