I thought the rules of Florida state the further north you go the deeper in the south you get...except Tallahassee.

Swerve Florida. It is a boring combination of olds, Disney and American transplants. Only redeemable quality is the Cuban culture in and around Miami. Oh and the Keys are cool. But everything north of Miami Beach is worth avoiding.

I thought the rules of Florida state the further north you go the deeper in the south you get...except Tallahassee.

Oh no, that's true. Tallahassee is surrounded by the South like Austin is surrounded by Texas. Universities and State government will do that to you. If not for those two factors, Tallahassee would be Lake City in both attitude and size.

Jacksonville is the last truly southern city you will encounter while traveling south on I-95.
