From the PL on fixture setting: "Some of the groundwork is done in the preceding weeks when questionnaires are sent to clubs for requests"

Season 2002/03 was the last time the Derby was played at Anfield first. So it's ten years and counting. You have to assume this is now at the request of the clubs? Why though?

I think it gives them an advantage. Home form takes a bit of time to get together and we face them early - sometimes, as per this season about 4th/5th home game in. I dont know why Everton would agree to this.

I can understand some clubs not wanting fixtures on certain dates (like the rs on Hillsborough anniversary) and things like that but why on earth would we ask for the Goodison derby to be played first, and more importantly why would the FA let us?

Surely teams can't actually pick and choose when they play teams on a whim, they have to actually have good reason.

I know 10 years seems way to long to be coincidence but what else could it realisticaly be?

Tough game to start with, but we have done well there at spurs over the last five years, decent set of 1st few games to hopefully get some big points on board for us,and i think the last month or 2 bar man utd is a good run in of games if we need points on the board for euro place
