Everton's 2012/13 Premier League curtain-raiser against Manchester United will now be on a Monday night and live on Sky Sports.

The Blues' encounter with the dethroned champions will kick off at 8pm on August 20.

The fixture is the first of five which have been re-arranged following the announcement of Sky's first broadcasting schedule for the campaign.

Among the others to change is the first Merseyside derby of the season, which was originally pencilled in to be played at 3pm on Saturday, October 27.

The Goodison clash has been provisionally moved to a 12.45pm kick off on the same date but could move to 1.30pm on Sunday, 28 October if Liverpool reach the Europa League group stages.

Newcastle's visit to Goodison Park, first scheduled for Saturday, September 15 will now take place at 8pm on Monday, 17 September, while the following Saturday's outing at Swansea (22 September) has altered to an earlier kick off time of 12.45pm.

The Toffees' game at QPR on Saturday, October 20 has been moved to the following day - Sunday, October 21 at 4pm.

Our home game against Tottenham has also switched from Saturday, December 8 to Sunday, December 9 at 3pm because of the White Hart Lane outfit's involvement in the Europa League. TV selections for this part of the season have not yet been made.

Amended fixtures:

Manchester United (H) - Monday 20 August, 8pm
Newcastle United (H) - Monday 17 September, 8pm
Swansea (A) - Saturday 22 September, 12.45pm
QPR (A) - Sunday 21 October, 4pm
Liverpool (H) – Saturday 27 October, 12.45pm OR Sunday 28 October, 1.30pm*
Tottenham Hotspur (H) - Sunday 9 December, 3pm

* Should Liverpool qualify for the Europa League group stage

I'm glad its a Monday night. can watch all the Saturday 1st day unfold. then the Super Sunday on TV and then the best till last under a floodlit Goodison

I nearly booked a guest house for me n the missus to come down for the toon game and have a night out luckily i remembered that they were in europa and would prob be switched so thank fook for that.

It's great for you lids outside of Liverpool you'l see us on the box a bit more.

Am fuming though, football should be Saturday 3pm always, no drinking time for this one.

Suits me that the Utd. game is moved tbh as the kids are away that weekend. Will feel a bit left out in the 1st day of the season dept though.
Not so mad about the other monday nighter tbh as the kids will be back at school, Fridays would've been better for those with kids really (and there are a lot of u11's with s.t.'s next season).
Early sat ones are a bit of a chore as rule out the shiz they do on a sat morn.

Feel for those that will be heading to Swansea away and have to be there for an early one.

Quite happy with the United game moving - I'm going to V Festival that weekend. I go every year and its always a risk that I'll miss the first game, though its usually Blackburn or someone so rarely an issue. With it being the Monday i could even go, though I may feel pretty horrible after the festival...

So how many people clicked on "Reply With Quote" to Danny's post, just in case like?!

Does anyone know when tickets for the ManUre game will go on sale? Got the green light from the mrs to make the trip for this one so I don't want to miss out.
