Fixing glass hob

I am the least handy of men so when my partner dropped a cup on the glass hob creating 1 inch hole in the corner I knew this would test my skills to the maximum.

A couple of weeks later and I'm all out of sawdust and rice and the glass hob is unbelievably still in need of repair.

Soooooo... Google tells me this needs to be repaired by an electrician. Do I buy a new hob separately? Or go through the company (whirlpool) who make the cooker and get them to replace everything?

I rent, it's not covered by insurance.

What's the best way to get this replaced? And by best obviously I mean easiest and cheapest.

And if anyone knows someone in Bristol who can do this then let me know.

Maybe on the off chance there's somebody like a windscreen repairer who does these things, but I doubt it.
But It's glass mate as in, fragile as...bummer I know
It's a whole thing replacement
It doesn't need a sparkie to repair it, might need one to replace / refit a newie depending how its connected
Your landlord might have insurance.
You may have to swallow the cost on this one:(

These are the days of equality mate (at least that's what radio 4 is constantly banging on about 24 hours a day while they entirely promote all things female and rip into males) so I suggest you get your partner* who did the damage to fix it.

*I'm assuming here your partner is a female - but what do I know? Could be male and you could be the female. You both could be female, you both could be male. You both could be transgender and lost count of where you started. I'm not judging. Just can't stand radio 4 anymore. Either way - partner fixes.

Look at this

But if it is a perimeter crack away from the rings maybe this might help

Cheers mate but its getting replaced now, 150 for parts and labour is much better than I expected. Looking at just the cost of replacement sheet looked like more than that on the websites I searched so although bit ideal at least it's done. With my workload I really dont want to have to deal with this so it is what it is.
