I'd just buy a new one mate.
Depends on the laptop/screen model. Can poss pick up a new screen for £50 on ebay if you're lucky, then replace it yourself if your half decent at taking things apart and putting them back together. I've done a few for my school where I've swapped screens/bevels from one laptop to the other, it's not too difficult as long as your careful and make sure you note where everything goes/connects!
Maybe get insurance, put up with the broken screen and then claim after a week or so? If you can do without it, that is.
I replaced our kids laptops myself mate. It's easy. New screen cost about £40 off ebay
Someone just suggested this in work....would there not be a lot of excess though as it's not been stolen?
I think my laptop insurance is £4 a month and the excess is £75, but you might be able to find it cheaper.
However, as the other lads have said it might be cheaper and easier to get a new screen fitted. Is there any independent computer repairs near you? I'd imagine if you could get hold of a screen they wouldn't charge to much to fit it if you don't want to do it yourself?
Need the same advice but for an iPhone 5 screen.
