Any avid anglers on here? Anybody got any good tips, catches or places to go?


I’ve gotten into it since moving to the other side of the world and think it’s great to be out in nature, out the house and it saves me a few quid too.

Also, out around fish n maggots and rain probably means a bit of peace in the inner ear...
 

A few big mirror about 25-30 years ago. 26-32lb. Used to have film pics. Night fishing, ledgering. Gotta pray on perfect dusk n dawn conditions, it's when they 'turned'.
 
A thread for people who absolutely can't think of anything to do.

In my boating years, I saw fishermen as either bored, miserable or angry sods, sat out in the rain forlornly staring at a piece of string, surrounded by gear that cosy hundreds, waiting for excitement. But each to their own.

The most unhappy and miserable fisherman I ever went past was the one sat next to his wife. From this I conclude that the only reason to go fishing is to get away from the wife.

It is good eating though, the fishing I mean

I guess if you’re that far into marriage that’s long since passed
