I’ve gotten into it since moving to the other side of the world and think it’s great to be out in nature, out the house and it saves me a few quid too.

In my boating years, I saw fishermen as either bored, miserable or angry sods, sat out in the rain forlornly staring at a piece of string, surrounded by gear that cost hundreds, waiting for excitement. But each to their own.
The most unhappy and miserable fisherman I ever went past was the one sat next to his wife. From this I conclude that the only reason to go fishing is to get away from the wife.
