Hahaha can remember getting out once to a half tracker from a medium pacer that just sat up at that perfect waist height length, tried to smash it out the park and all that happened was i walked off clean bowled. Still haunts me 20 years later lol

I only play 3rd team cricket for a bit of fun, but I'm still annoyed about it now like 10 hours later. In my head, I was going to hit it over the changing rooms but instead I edged it into the inside of my thigh and onto the stumps. Wanted the ground to swallow me up, especially since my brother was next into bat and stared at me with a look of disbelief lol

Nothing funnier than a change of bowler, batsman says "have a look" to partener, and out very next ball trying to hit into adjacent farm lol

Haha. Spent my early cricket days doing just that. Takes a thick skin to wade off the justified sledging from the oppo.

A lot of leagues are win/lose these days so blocking/nudging/nurdling isn't as valuable as it once was. Sundays are where the enjoyment is now.
