Not in a sexual way ffs!

Just when?

There is a Sade song on the radio atm, and it transported me back to a Bristol flat, with an old girl mate of mine and a few of her trainee nurse pals.

Probably 18 or 19 I guess.

Sipping some German white wine that I aint even gonna try to spell, Liebfraumilch or sommet anyrate. Sade Diamond Life on the record player, after a pizza.

Wow, I felt dead grown up that night.

At the barber's when he wafted a lit taper around the nape of your neck. Was about 11 there or thereabouts.

In my early twenties when I was made responsible running a division at my place of work. All of a sudden I am now accountable for the success or failure of the department I am managing. Wow that me made me feel like a proper adult.

Without being all maudlin, 15, when the old guy passed on. Grew up quickly. Or thought I had, took becoming a dad myself to take responsibility seriously. Still a struggle between my physical self and that young upstart.
Strangely, been watching reruns of TOTP 1983 and the Lotus Eaters' First Picture of you took me right back to 20 years old, going home and away, Gatsbys, pubs around Anfield on a Sunday night, and girls with flammable big hair and ra ra skirts.... :)

Must have been tough losing the old man so young. And at an "awkward" age for a lad.

The rest of your post is me as well, just down in Bristol, and watching Bristol City.
