Hi Lads,
After about 13 years of supporting the blues from 10,000 miles away, I'm finally making the trip over from Australia. I'll be in the lower Gwladys to welcome the Geordies!
I'm only in Scouseland for 2 days, I'm 25 and on my own for this part of my trip, so can anyone recommend the best pub to get a pint and meet some fellow blues before & after?
Cheers,
Dan

Where are you staying? If you're in town, the Ship & Mitre on Dale Street is often busy on matchdays and the selection of beer is second to none. As for round the ground, the ale can often be quite **** but most places should be busy with blues. The likes of the Oak will probably be lively if you're looking for the atmosphere.

Is right mate.

You've picked a good game too. Goodison under the lights is epic. With it being a monday around the ground won't get too busy until about 6pm. Your more than welcome to join me and my mates for a couple of pints if you want. We drink in the spellow which is only 50 yards from the Gladwys.

or if your lucky you may get to drink outside the spellow lol

good on you pal hope you enjoy the game

Theres a cracking bar called the Lisbon which is pretty busy after the game. Good atmosphere mate- you'll like it.

Remarkably Sydneyish as well despite it's name, like a good old traditional Aussie boozer, I believe that although they don't close they do have a 5'o'clock swill where they all have to swallow whatever is in front of them.

Jealous mate, not much that will beat the feeling of being in the ground for the first time. Enjoy it.

How good is this.

Upmost respect mate.... Hope you have great experience !

You may well end up meeting up with some folks off here mate, make sure you have an open ticket for the train if you do as 1 the next day will probably not be something to attempt. You may well be in Sharpy's Shed.

Thats great Dan. You will have great time and that moment when you see the back of the Park end as you arrive at goodison for the 1st time is a moment to cherish. Butterflies and excitment.

We will smash them.

Good for you Dan.

Next year will mark the 40th anniversary of my first & only match at Goodison!!! :o( Gawd, I feel old now...

Let's see if I can't make it over to Blighty for the occasion eh? I'll call it the "Get Biggy to Blighty" campaign! :P
