The three-year implementation of UEFA's Financial Fair Play rules began in June. The initiative has several ambitious key objectives: "To improve the financial stability of professional football clubs; to protect professional football clubs’ creditors; to regulate the influence of external funding on on-field competition and to preserve the long-term viability of European club football." A pan-continental survey on this subject has been organised by the University of Chemnitz, and the findings from supporters in all 53 national football associations will be presented to UEFA. To have your say visit the Financial Fair Play survey.

Broadly i agree with its aims, but sadly the big clubs will remain big and the smaller ones..well you get the picture.

Clubs have to start living in the real world money wise given the state of play in the outside world it amazes me that so few clubs have gone under it'll be interesting to see if this evens things out for the small clubs in the long term.

I took the survey, some good questions. At the end it offers you the chance to be contacted about the results. It also asks what team you support and other questions based on our club, so we should REPRESENT, HOES!

It's an utterly reprehensible scam designed to ensure Man Utd, Barca, Real, Bayern, the 2 Milans, Juve and Liverpool are the only clubs who can EVER win the European Cup again. What's even more perfidious about it is the pretence that it is set up to help clubs like Everton to break through by holding back nouveau riche clubs like Manchester City.

I'll say it until I'm blue in the face. We will never, ever, ever be champions of England again, much less of Europe, unless we secure major investment. Why? Because we don't have the huge global fanbases those elite clubs mentioned above have, and thus we are never going to have income from selling as many shirts, etc as they can ("Bild" reported in the past few days that Bayern Munich this summer sold more shirts than all the other Bundesliga clubs combined).

What grieves me very much is seeing so many of our fans falling for the media con about how evil City are for daring to "buy success". It's utter claptrap. Hard work and careful planning = glass ceiling + losing your best players to the elite before you get a sniff of success. Look at the problems Tottenham are having holding on to Modric. Look at how war was waged on us to prise Rooney away to the Media's Own United FC. So the days of hard work, etc are gone; Man United and LFC got in first before the other English clubs and the rest have been trying to play catch up ever since.

If you want real fair play rules, do this:

1. Stop the huge financial rewards for success.
2. Limit the number of new signings the following season for a title-winning side.
3. Video technology so that all those mysteriously unseen penalties at Old Trafford and Anfield become a thing of the past.
4. Gates must be split 50:50. If it takes two to tango, then the spoils must be divided equally. If United don't like that, they can play their own reserves every other week.

* LUBES UP *

Its not perfect. I never claimed it was perfect.

However what it is - is a start.

And unlike what the clueless would claim. It won't take decades.

Oh and most of what you've said is "claptrap" yourself there lid.

It wont affect us cos we dont spend anything anyway.

It wont affect City/Chelsea cos they will just sign 400m a year deals with their mates.

Infact, it will only effect Clubs who get take over and wont allow new owners to spend money.

Thanks Platini, you was GASH.

You just know we'll finally get our own oligarch as soon as this comes into effect.

It's claptrap? Why, because you say so? How about a refutation, a rationale, something to show me the error of my ways?

Nesky's ideas sound solid to me. Good points, nicely made. Football has been ruined for years and without rules that give genuine equality then without a city-esque backer it is impossible to break the pack. I would like to introduce rules along the lines of American sports but it will never happen. Id like wage caps or set amounts of cash for each team's wages. Everton as it stands will never win the league again.
