FIFA says FIFA World Cup in Qatar could be moved to Winter

US or Australia should have landed it. Said it repeatedly and will again. Much like 2018 should've gone to Ingerland. 2026 will be back in Europe, so AUS or US won't have another shot for another eight years... and we'll get passed over for China.

Doesn't really matter. While FIFA can apparently do what they like it's tough sh.. for the rest of us. Unless countries say it's not on then it is going to happen and once they get away with it the first time they will just push the boundaries for whoever pays the most.......football is screwed......

This won't just be confined to the World Cup in 2022.

The Federations Cup is held in the host nation as a dry run the previous year.

Once the World Cup has been consigned to winter the same will happen with the Federstions Cup of 2021.

That'll be another flipping year of massive disruption to the football season.

On the plus side, only a 2 hour time difference between England and Qatar, as opposed to the 6 hour one between Russia and England

It won't be too difficult to watch in that regard

There's no way it's getting changed now I think, so might as well try to find some positives

Actually Qatar and Moscow/West Russia are both GMT+3. Unlikely there'll be too many games in East Russia.
