“This report represents a major challenge for Fifa and it also gives an opportunity for Qatar to comprehensively reform its medieval labour laws and thus retain the hosting rights to the 2022 World Cup,” she said.

Amnesty International UK called on Infantino to take immediate steps to improve conditions for migrant workers in Qatar. “Only concerted Fifa action to prevent abuses on World Cup sites will save the soul of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar,” it said.

I'm sure Qatar will fudge the stats enough to get away with it

You could have the games kicking off at 6,8,10 AM GMT. It wouldn't really cause that much disruption, heck I'm awake at 5 most mornings for my two mile jog around the estate.

Ok if you like getting out of bed at some unearthly hour, I suppose.

That would be the only issue with it for me

But then again, they'd have to do the same if it was elsewhere in the World as well

Only fair that we suffer once every 20 years or so. It is the WORLD Cup at the end of the day

They are thoroughly deserving though. They've shown they are committed to the sport over there and have performed well in past World Cups. I thought they played magnificently at times in the last World Cup and went out very much with their pride in tact

Why mate?

They like their togger over there, they're the current Champions of Asia and they have all the infrastructure in place

Plus, our summer is their winter, so we wouldn't have to re schedule the league season around it

Outside of esoteric match times for Western viewers back home, I really can't see a problem with them having it
We wouldn't be able to watch most of the games...
