Ok im aware this post is a little pointless but im sat in a freezing cold office waiting for the match and you can only watch so many runs of come dine with me footballers special (watch it its genius)

i recently purchased fifa 2011, i have never had this game before but i often hear references to peoples posts on here quoting football manager- ie when we want the likes of dzeko leading the frontline

We often talk on here about the Everton way and it is usually in a derisory manner but it also stands for something- i have built my way up now to be in a position in the game where i can begin to purchase big big name players....(not saying everton are not full of big name players ;-) )

but to do this means dropping one of my lads, billy is playing great for me, and beckford seems to have found his shooting boots...he is my mr everton.....then i have really spent a lot of time with Guaye who is having a blinding season for me and attracting a lot of interest- i tried discussing my dilema with my wife last night ( she is pregnant and has better things to think about than my silly game...cough choke....splutter) does she not understand i have finally got one landon donovan playing for me....

you see i have had offers for osman who i hardly ever play, hibbert also although i tend to blame him for all wrong doings in defence...but it broke my hear to to sell victor anichibe the other day to celtic ( go figure) but i got such a price for him i cannot turn it down ( i defy anyone to knockback the money i got for him)

the thing is i want to win all this and more, to take my little digitised men into the champions league final and to win it with the side we have playing now, to see my faith in beckford was justified...to watch billy tear down that wing and push it across to yakubu to fire in from just outside the 18 yrs box.....i know its football on the computer but its everton out there, with the chang shirt and their names on the back of the shirt

would i really want a multi millionaire to come in and give my team an endless pot of money ala city- sure we would be able to buy whoever i wanted but i might as well change my teams name to superstar united and have a flashing strip....(dont get me wrong i would like some money)

all that said i feel that adam johnson has had a hard time at city and i think he would fit into my moulded team perfectly.....the perfect foil for beckfords runs into the box...and i believe i can justify him as he doesnt seem like a city player to me anyway...

i know some people will question why i posted this but i also think some of you will understand and hopefully had similar experiences....

i think im going to buy the new football manager- abandon my children, divorce my wife and basically live the rest of my life as a hermit- but i will get that winning champions league goal through a masterstroke of bringing vaughan on in the dying mins..........

I was going to buy FIFA 11.

I saw a nice ad for it in the paper...they paid a lot of money for those ads. I even saw an ad on TV, very expensive. I wrote them a letter confirming that FIFA 11 was for me...they were very happy that I was going to buy it. I even ordered it at the shop.

On the day though, I saw Actua Soccer from 1995 on the shelves and even though it's crap & won't run on my PC, I bought it instead...

well now i feel like the geeky kid in school who wore donnay sock instead of nike.......wasnt really the fifa game i was talking about...it can be any football related game...that allows you to buy and sell players...hows about that? now can i please stop picking up litter and pass me the ball

Stick with Football Manager mate or Championship Manager.

Everton-related.

The two lads who made the original games in the 90's and the newer ones are both Evertonians. They set the standard for the genre.

ANOTHER EVERTON FIRST.

First use of goal nets...
First undersoil heating...
First purpose built stadia...

etc etc etc

FIFA = Corrupt.

Stick with Football Manager / Championship Manager. Boycott FIFA.

Well, it's hard to see what you mean really. If you're saying a Sheik owner at Everton would rip the heart out of the club and create yet another bland Premier League media darling... yes, I'd agree wholeheartedly.

However, we can't just stand still and enjoy battling the big boys in the face of all adversity. There's a mentality with Evertonians that as long as we're valiant losers whilst operating on a shoestring budget, then we've "done good".

That's bullshit basically. Kenwright simply isn't rich enough for Everton. We don't necessarily need an oil tycoon, but we need someone at least twice as rich as Kenwrong, who runs this club like his own personal toy.

It's still "Nil Satis Nisi Optimum" for me, and that starts in the boardroom.

In terms of games, the whole point of them is to create a fantasy - the impossible is possible, Messi to Everton etc. But it's up to you how you want to play the game so set yourself your own limits - like you won't spend over a certain amount for a player, or you'll only break your transfer record by £500'000 per season, or you'll only buy two players a year who cost a fee etc.

Stick with Football Manager / Championship Manager.

CM is no longer run by Sports Interactive, and the Collyer brothers have nothing to do with it. And it's [Poor language removed].

FM2011 is the latest game, and it's bugged to death. A patch is due out in two weeks.

* Awaits the patch before buying.

** Boycotts FIFA.

* Worships Collyer brothers as geniuses... and proud blues

Awaits the patch before buying.

I bought Balotelli for £5m after one season, Bale for £7m after a season and a half, then - this still shocks me - Messi for £12m after two seasons.

As Everton.

Oh, and Cristiano Ronaldo went to Barcelona for £26m. Within one season.

So, yes... bugged ^^

New FIFA is awful.

Every tedious eventuality that can transpire does. Most games end 0-0, no matter who you play. You spend ages passing it round, only to get one glorious chance and something boring happens like he saves it, or its offside, or you get fouled and nothing given.

Normally love FIFA but this is utter garbage. FIFA world cup was ace though.

O yeah the passing is gash. Loads of 4 yrd passes going astray. Your players movements are invariably idiotic. When you tackle you never get the ball, even if you tackle successfully, the AI can tackle however it wants but you wander near them its a red card...the list is endless. I can normally win the league with Everton on the best setting eventually. I've been playing this for ages and I'm still struggling and recently I realised...its not me, its this [Poor language removed] boring game.

In short you're better off reading Roy of the Rovers whilst repeatedly slamming your nuts in the dresser drawer.
