Anybody else finding the new demo annoying as f*** ? The fact that players are prone to whacking the ball 10 feet away if they receive it while sprinting is really getting on my nerves. Can't imagine that the ball control will be like with lower league teams if GÃ¶tze loses it like a clown so often.

I had similar issues with the defending system in FIFA 12 until I adjusted to it. I'm sure it'll be fine when you get a few days play into it.

I downloaded the PES demo this year... I think FIFA would have to try really hard to be as bad as that. ^^

Hope so, really like the idea of the 'live' seasons where you are forced to adjust to real life injuries and player form.

Hahaha really ? I've heard some okay reviews of PES but haven't touched that series since the PS2. It's fallen so far from the glory days.

Yeah I've read the reviews of the demo too - I can only assume I'm missing something as to me it felt on rails (again), ugly as sin (again) and virtually unplayable (again!). But we'll see. Shame as I was once a PES Master League addict!

It's a bid mad, like, this crap first touch business. Does make it look more realistic though. I also like the way they run for 1-2s now, it looks a lot better.

Have they fixed manual player switching so it's actually manual and/or stopped defenders moving out of the way instead of tracking runners?

K0FF T00BZ, it's great.

Well not great, but it's good, I like it more than FIFA at least, having played both demos. And FIFA12 is gash also. Opinions and all that, I guess.

I am also a Master League/Become a Legend addict... would've played FIFA more if the "Virtual Pro" system wasn't balls.

I'm loving the demo to be honest, I really like that unpredictability element.

And if you're miscontrolling every ball then you're obviously over hitting your passes, it takes getting used to but I think the gameplay is a big step up from last year, can't wait for the full game now.

Also, the mini-skill games are freakin' addictive!

And yeah, the skill mini-games in the loading screens are brilliant. And helpful too.

have they enabled it so you can choose the whole kit yet? really pishes me off e.g. everton vs man utd when they both have white shorts and white socks. sometimes i want to play as everton in all blue. playing on world class on 12 atm, it's not that it's harder to play on this level, it's just the players dont do what i press for them to half the time which makes it harder.

PES has sadly stood still for the last few years

the first touch thing is brilliant. if you get it wrong it ends badly but if you get it right it can take you straight past defenders

I like how when you miscontrol it the ball can sit up perfectly for a half volley. Smashed one top bin from 25 yards out before.

I love how apparently Zabaleta is a better fullback than Baines.

Anyway, Brennan, this FIFA seems to eliminate the aspects of FIFA12 you didn't like. You can't just rely on speed in 13, it seems. Like, if you hold to run and go from side to side, your player will not automatically control the ball. Good move by EA I think.

Defending is a lot easier too, you can pick of bad touches which is very realistic.

You're right about the speed aspect, the thing i find strange is that they were acting as if FIFA 13 wouldn't really be that big of an update, but i personally feel that this new first touch system has changed the game as much if not more than the 'tactical defending' did in FIFA 12.

This feels like a big change to the gameplay, the biggest in a long time.
