FFP for next season - an opportunity for a Uncle Uzzy?

I read somewhere that FFP is being relaxed next season and looking online today it seems united are being heavily linked with 100m+ moves for Sancho and Niguez.

Normally I would discount the chances of both happening as impossible due to FFP (unless they sold Pogba and probably others).

However, is this summer the time for Everton and others currently lagging behind, to splash big money that they may have behind the scenes from wealthy investors safe in the knowledge that FFP won’t get them further down the line?

I don’t know enough about how it works but it seems as though there may be a small window of opportunity that would allow us to try and bridge the gap that otherwise would have taken us years to sustainably build towards under FFP.

Hopefully we spend it wisely this time if it is even a possibility!

I don't think that it's being relaxed in the sense that clubs can spend more money. It seemed like that was a misreading of the article.

Probably just shift it out one year, might be some clever accounting to create a bit of wriggle room but I don’t think there’ll be a mega splurge.

I'd agree the way the article was worded is, that owners will be given leeway to invest money if the lack of income is causing financial problems, so maybe with some clever accounting and a basic legal argument it could lead to players salary being covered for a long period thus freeing up millions and that lost match day income could also be covered, you could be talking 10s of millions that could be written off against FFP, but certainly it won't be enough to go out and blast a fortune on 3 or 4 top players. We might get 1 top player from what we'll save/invest.

It was to relax the rules for 1 month during the crisis. So clubs werent under pressure to file accounts etc

This may be extended now...

Good idea.

I mean imagine Everton with a lot of money to spend. Imagine how much better we would be dropping 200 million in a year on the squad.
