Festive Football

It's the most congested festive period in premier league history. There are 11 games in 45 days up to the end of the fixtures on New Years Day.

Interesting article in the bbc suggests players actually run harder and faster and overall significantly increase their physical outputs over Christmas. The idea that players are knackered is actually completely disproved by the evidence. Hopefully this puts an end to some of the moaning we hear every year about burnout from Jose, and especially Klopp.

Fans enjoy Christmas football. The players are massively well rewarded financially, they are nowadays super fit, and all the evidence suggests they actually increase intensity during the period. Let's hope the tradition of Christmas football in this country continues for many years to come.

Have to be honest, and I know I'm in the minority but I've never liked, boxing day, new year day games.

It must be getting close to that point in the season when the opposition start singing “feed the scousers”. I wonder if fans of teams that play us or the RS in November get together to work out whether they can sing it yet

I'm having a winter break, other than the RS and the FA cup I'm not going to any aways between Palace and Arsenal. The team haven't put any effort in so far , so why should I ?.
