Been having this discussion recently. How much would you say Fernando Torres is now actually worth, or should I rephrase it as how much would Chelsea actually let him go for? With signing him for 50 million 2 years ago and his rapid decline I don't have a clue how much he'd go for. Whatever the case, Chelsea would definitely lose a huge sum of money. £15 million maybe?

I have absolutely no idea. I was thinking about this myself the other day.

He's too expensive to loan out without looking stupid, and they can't sell him on the cheap without looking stupid, so he's in a footballing wilderness.

Hasnt seemed to have bothered Chesea much in the last few years though.

Exactly. I don't see clubs taking him off their hands for any more than 75% off his original price. Another player ruined at Chelski

He's a very good player who still has the ability, his goal on the weekend showed that. His scoring record isn't awful this season either. If he went back to Athletico he'd probably start scoring all the time again.

£15m or so sounds about right considering his age.

If I were to sign him, £10 million maximum, and then his wages significantly reduced with a massive goal bonus.

How much does a fancy cushion cost? £100 odd? Because he'll be their to soften the blow for Athletico when he is part of the Falcao deal.
