EFC David

Player Valuation: £30m
Why does he not get the critical acclaim he deserved? was it because he wasn't that good at AC Milan. Mainly down to injuries? For me he was one of the best players of his generation. he could spray passes all over the pitch like Pirlo or Alonso, he could roam about like Silva, he could dribble like Hazard. A truly world class player. He made Marca's best 11 foreigners that have played for Real Madrid. Capello called him "tactically perfect" and Alex Ferguson said he had magnets in his boots after this piece of skill.

Yet he still doesn't get a mention by the British press when the talk about the Galacticos.

Oh and the british media are largely idiots, with some exceptions, which unfortunately filters down to the fan base, remember how many didn't rate zlatan till a few years ago, some still think Totti was average, the british media and british publics opinion of footballers abroad is mainly one of ignorance, one of the reasons our game is stuck in the dark ages

Interesting fact from those days was that Daniel Passarella, the Argentine coach from 94-98 banned any players who had either long hair, ear-rings or were gay. You could just imagine that these days?

That gives me an idea for a new thread, baldy 11.

I don't remember that tbh.

The long hair was a big thing here in the media as Redondo was a big star over here at the time.
Ironic if you google images of Passarella himself as a star of the 78 WC

Redondo was possibly the best handsome player ever aswell

I got it from Wikipedia like, so it might be wrong. Batistuta was more handsome btw.
